Why Georgia leads the count
Georgia licenses private home care providers (PHCP) as their own category. That one category accounts for 62 of the 103 licenses in the window. Over 90 days (Jul 24 to Oct 22, 2026) it was 158 of 477.
For context, the three states have 12,692 licensed home care agencies on record as of Oct 22, 2026: 7,515 in Florida, 4,653 in Georgia and 524 in Arizona.
How these counts are made
Each row is matched to its state record and deduplicated. We count by original license date, not by the date a record appears online. Full detail is on the methodology page.
License date vs record publish date
Some licenses appear in the public record after their license date. Recent weeks grow as late records post. We add them when they appear and mark them as late.
Ownership changes vs new businesses
Some rows are ownership changes of an existing agency, not new businesses. We label each one.
