How to find new home care agencies in Florida

Newly licensed Florida home care agencies appear in AHCA's FloridaHealthFinder, searchable by provider type and county. From Sep 23 to Oct 22, 2026, 21 new Florida home care licenses appeared, and some licenses show up in the public record after their license date.

The Florida license types that count as home care

FloridaHealthFinder lists four provider types that home care sellers usually mean: Home Health Agencies, Homemaker and Companion Service, Hospice and Nurse Registry.

As of Oct 22, 2026, Florida has 7,515 licensed home care agencies on record. In the 90 days from Jul 24 to Oct 22, 2026, it issued 201 new ones: 184 homemaker and companion, 14 home health and 3 nurse registry. The 21 in the last 30 days were all homemaker and companion.

Step by step in FloridaHealthFinder

  1. Open the search. Open the FloridaHealthFinder Facility/Provider Location Search.
  2. Choose a provider type. In Facility/Provider Type, choose Home Health Agencies, Homemaker and Companion Service, Hospice or Nurse Registry.
  3. Set license status. Set License Status to Active/Open.
  4. Search by service area. To find every provider that serves a county, click Advanced Search and choose the county. A General Search finds only main office locations.
  5. Open each provider profile. Open each result and read its provider profile, including the license details.
  6. Repeat weekly. Repeat for each provider type every week. The form has no license date filter, so you compare results against last week.

General Search vs Advanced Search by county

AHCA's note on the search page says a General Search for these four types finds only the location of the main office. These providers can serve several counties. To see every provider that serves a county, choose the provider type, click Advanced Search and pick the county.

No license date filter

The search form has no license date field. It will not hand you this week's new licenses. You compare results week to week. Because some records post late, a week you checked once can grow the next time.

Why LLC filings are not a lead list

In one 7 day scan of 15,651 Florida business filings on Sunbiz, 48 were new home care companies. Most were not licensed yet. A filing means a company exists. It does not mean it may serve clients. More in Before the license.

Why NPI lists differ from license lists

An NPI from CMS NPPES is easy to get. In 5,065 matched Florida records, home health agencies filed their NPI a median of 112 days before their license, and 62.3% filed the NPI first. An NPI list reaches agencies that cannot take clients yet. For non-medical agencies the order flips: the NPI came a median of 12 days after the license, so an NPI list finds them late.

What Florida does not publish

Florida does not publish agency emails. In Florida this is a phone-first list. Georgia does publish them. See the field audit.
